Nestled in the hills of Utah County, Chateau Manette was the setting for one of those unforgettable evenings a gathering created from a dream, surrounded by friendship, flowers, delicious food, and the beauty of a changing season.
Our dear friend Shannon, the owner and visionary behind this beautiful vineyard and floral farm, had a dream to create a place where people could gather, slow down, and make memories together. That dream has blossomed into something truly special. Her floral farm is more than a place where flowers grow it has become a place where people gather, friendships deepen, and beautiful memories are made.
Shannon has a gift for bringing wonderful people together, and this evening was no exception.
We were especially honored to share the evening with our friend Michelle of @theglitzypear, who organized and created the most beautiful tablescape. The table was a feast for the eyes before we even began to indulge. Rather than a formal meal with a menu and courses, the table invited us to simply gather, taste, and enjoy.
There was no need to ask what to choose.
The invitation was simply to indulge.
Beautiful cheeses, creamy dips, fresh fruits, rustic breads, little bites, and so much more filled the table. It was the kind of spread that encouraged lingering reaching across the table for another taste, discovering a new combination, and sharing favorites with the people sitting beside you.
And because we were gathered in a vineyard, Shannon had one more special treat for us her own homemade grape juice. Made from the grapes grown around us, it was the perfect taste of the place itself. Sweet, fresh, and wonderfully unexpected, it made the evening feel even more connected to the land we were enjoying.
As guests began to arrive, the sun was slowly setting displaying its colors on the eastern mountains across the valley. The light softened, the air became crisp, and there was that unmistakable feeling that a new fall season was beginning.
We walked up toward the vineyard, and suddenly the scene felt almost too beautiful to be real.
It was the kind of setting that could have been taken straight from a Hallmark movie. The tables glowed beneath the evening sky, tiny candles flickered between the flowers, and bistro lights stretched overhead, casting a warm glow across the gathering.
And then there were the little details that made the evening even sweeter.
At each place setting sat a delicate little cake created by @Keikicakesbymia. These beautiful confections added the perfect touch of sweetness to an already magical table, waiting patiently for us to discover them after indulging in the savory delights.
But the evening wasn't meant to end around the table.
After dinner, Shannon invited us to wander through her floral farm.
We walked through the rows of flowers, where the evening air seemed to carry the sweetest scents. Everywhere we looked there was something blooming color, texture, fragrance, and the quiet beauty of flowers growing naturally in their season.
It was a completely different kind of experience to see the flowers where they began.
Rather than simply admiring an arrangement, we were invited to choose our own bundle. We wandered through the farm, selecting flowers that spoke to us, gathering stems and blooms in our hands as we created our own little collection of the evening.
Then our wonderful hostess Shannon taught us how to turn those flowers into a beautiful floral display.
There was something especially meaningful about creating with flowers that had just been growing in the very fields we had walked through. Each arrangement became a little reflection of the person who made it different colors, different textures, different flowers, but all beautiful.
And perhaps that is what Shannon has created here.
Not simply a floral farm.
Not simply a vineyard.
But a place where people can experience beauty rather than simply look at it.
A place where you can sit at a table overflowing with delicious things, sip homemade grape juice made from the vineyard, wander through flowers at sunset, gather a handful of blooms, and learn how to create something beautiful with your own hands.
There is something extraordinary about gathering around a table with friends sharing stories, laughter, food, creativity, and the simple gift of being together. These are the moments we remember long after the candles have gone out and the flowers have faded.
Shannon's dream has become a place where those moments can happen.
A place where flowers are grown, grapes are gathered, and memories bloom.
A place where friends gather and, for an evening, the rest of the world seems to fade away.
As the last light disappeared behind the mountains and the evening settled over the vineyard, it was impossible not to feel grateful to be surrounded by beauty, to be included in someone's dream, and most of all, to share it with dear friends.
Some evenings are beautiful because of where you are.
Others are beautiful because of who you're with.
And every once in a while, you get both.
