Some photography sessions are about more than simply taking beautiful pictures. They capture a moment in someone’s life that will be remembered for years to come. This was one of those special sessions.

I recently had the honor of photographing a beautiful young woman preparing to serve as a Sister Missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has been called to serve in Michigan, and it was wonderful to capture her excitement, faith, and anticipation before she begins this new chapter.

What Does a Missionary Do?
Missionaries dedicate a portion of their lives to serving others and sharing the message of Jesus Christ. They teach the gospel, study the scriptures, serve people in their communities, pray with those they meet, and invite others to come closer to the Savior.

A mission is about leaving the familiar behind and trusting the Lord to guide you to the people and places where you are needed.

Called to Serve: A Sister Missionary’s Journey to Michigan

This Sister Missionary is excited to follow that call and serve the people of Michigan.

Her Testimony
As she prepares to leave, she shared this beautiful testimony:

“I believe that the Lord sends those that He calls to the right place, at the right time. I believe that there are people out there who need me, and who are waiting to hear the good news that Jesus Christ has risen, and that He has a church of joy here on Earth. I testify that this church is true, and that my Savior loves me, and everyone who He died for. I say these things without a shadow of a doubt, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.”

It was an honor to capture this special time in her life. These portraits will forever remind her of the faith, excitement, and love she carried with her as she prepared to serve.

Congratulations, Sister! Michigan is waiting, and your missionary adventure is about to begin. May your mission be filled with faith, service, love, and unforgettable memories.
